Meditating on December

Ok, folks, I've read what was written in December, and here are my overall comments:

  1. On a positive note -- I am really enjoying the way you are interacting with one another. I appreciate that you are reading each other's blogs and commenting thoughtfully. Thank you, young scholars.
  2. Also, I am noticing more details in your blogs -- and I am pleased. However, not satisfied. More details, more examples are needed to convince a reader.
  3. N0 more sloppiness. Seriously. Capitalize titles correctly. Drop the txt wrtng and spell your words out. Hold down the D@^# shift key. I wrote this comment on Hernan's blog, but the problem is in no way localized to him. Also, there are some of you who need to invest in paragraph breaks. Please.
  4. Misplaced apostrophes make a reader crazy. Viz:
  5. The following people did not make December blog posts: Edwin Granados, Jenn Alejo, Gary Guillermo, Masyeli Meza. I will allow them to make up half credit (posting on their own blogs). Several of you did not comment on each other, and what's done is done; I will not be giving anyone credit for late replies. They are just too time consuming for me to trace down. December's over. Let's do January right.
  6. That said, I did a bad job of keeping track of your November assignments. Therefore, everyone will receive credit for the November reading log, vocabulary and blog. I will not punish you for my inadequacies.
  7. Your December reading log and vocabulary, your Unit 5 reflection and your new novel are due tomorrow.
  8. FYI: The next unit involves a research paper. You will be making your own synthesis prompts (the third essay type) and responding to them. There will be more on this, but I want you to start preparing your hearts for this new joy.

All affection,

sv

Hi Ms. Vernon,

Ready to go back to school?
Neither are we!

Thank you for the recommendations. I'll be sure to go check them out and start reading.

We're doing research papers? Sounds like fun!

Dear Mrs. Vernon,
I just wanted to ask what suggestion do you have on what kind of things I should talk about in my blog. I read that we will be doing a research paper and that it will be a lot of work, but I have a question are we going to do the research paper step by step or everything by ourselves? Since when was the school website down because I wasn't able to do my replies until now, but I know that maybe I will not get credit for them. I should of done them before. What do you think of my blog so far?

Sincerely,
Leslie

Hello Sherre.
You know, whenever i read your blog, I swear i can practically hear you. Very creepy, but then again, it shows what a good writer you are.

I will take your comments in and check them out. Thanks.

(Have you heard about Obama's Abortion funding?! Thoughts?)
(Oh! what else can you inform me about(Political, Religion, etc,.)? I know you're like a Snapple Bottle Fact, educate me!)

I can't wait for the research papers honestly.
I know I have a long way to go as a writer, but to write effectively is so much of a gift that I would love to acquire.
I don't know if my writing has improved, but I would like to hear more about the negative aspects of my writing habits.
I want to become a better reader as well, so can you recommend me any books that are in a sense like controversial. The reason is because i love to debate within my own head and to read controversial topics makes my thinking a bit more cirtical and deep

Hi Ms,

I barely remembered that today is the first day of February and i just finished commenting on people's blog. I don't know if that is okay because i initially thought that today was January 31. I did everything, but i forgot that today was Feb 1. Sorry Ms.

Ms. Vernon,

Well I need to improve in my details. I know what I am talking about, but people might not. Thanks for the advice.
